Donor's visit
Many times we had the opportunity to hear the saying: "Wherever there is a human being, there is also an opportunity for kindness". Thanks to people whose life mission is to spread kindness and create happiness for others, we are proud of what we do and believe that we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
At the beginning of March this year, we had the honor of hosting Mr. Ricus Jacometti, project manager of the Medicor Foundation from Liechtenstein, which has been financially supporting our work for 9 years. During his visit, Mr. Ricus also stayed in Foča, in the Association for Helping Children and Youth with Special Needs "Tračak nade", where he had the opportunity to socialize with older and younger brothers and sisters and enjoy various activities together with them. He also had a pleasant time with his former younger sister and younger brother, who gladly shared their experience of the Program in a conversation with Mr. Ricus.
"The Medicor Foundation is supporting the OBOS Foundation since 2014. During my visit I could see the interaction between a group of volunteers with their younger 'brothers' and 'sisters'. This was very inspirational. However the most impressive meeting was with Adisa (18 years) and Damir (23 years) who told me their experience with older brothers or sisters during a difficult period in their lives and how this helped them coming out of this period strengthened and self-conscious . Thank you OBOS Foundation for your amazing work."
Mrs. Jelena Vilotić is the coordinator of the Older Brother, Older Sister program at the Association "Tračak nade" in Foča, she shared her impressions with us: "We are always glad to host our associates and their partners. We are glad that you chose our organization to host the visit of Mr. Ricus Jaccometi from the Medicor Foundation. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to present the work of our organization, its history and the programs we implement. Volunteers prepared several short activities, through which they explained what and how they work with children through group meetings planned by the Program. In addition to this, they showed through pictures how they participated in the preparation of December 3 - the International Day of People with Disabilities, as well as how they conduct individual meetings with children. What was significant for them was that they managed to explain everything shown without an interpreter, because that was what worried them the most before the meeting. As for the children, the most interesting thing for them was the photo camera owned by Mr. Ricus."
Happy and grateful for the wonderful company, we saw Mr. Ricus back to Liechtenstein, wished him a safe journey and gladly invited him to meet again.
